Corey - our newest addition
Monday, April 3, 2017My oldest son and I walk dogs at Wayside Waifs for a couple of hours each week. It's a time we enjoy spending together. We are working on our fourth year of volunteering. Each time we walk 3 - 4 dogs a mile, giving them a chance to get out, get some affection and work out some of the stress of being cooped up. Last month we found Corey, aka Dozer, in the holding area. The staff at Wayside Waifs worried he had ring worm and had isolated him.
Andy and I fell in love with him. I went home and told my husband I wanted to get him ring worm for his birthday. After he met Corey, he couldn't resist. I think this dog is about the best birthday gift I've given to him.
He's getting to pose on one of my favorite hooked rugs. I'm only letting him perch here for a photo! This rug was made by Sandy Williams and I don't want anything happening to it!!!
Don't be fooled by his sweet look though! He's turned out to be a dirty, sneaking, lying thief. When I'm not in the kitchen he jumps up to see what's in reach on the counter tops. Last week he got a stick of butter, and this week he got a helping of tuna fish! I'd take him back ....but I seem to like him in spite of his bad ways.

ReplyDeleteHa, the face of an angel! Congrats on your new addition!
ReplyDeleteThey are trainable - in our family more by my hubby than me. I am too soft hearted. We have always owned rescue pups. Takes them awhile to settle in and some work but they make wonderful lifelong companions. We are currently on Boxer #4 a big bruiser named Gabriel. Have fun. What a face!!!
ReplyDeleteSo cute!!
ReplyDeleteI'm in love ❤
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new family member Corey🐾 He is adorable! Many blessings for a fabulous life together...how wonderful for all of you
ReplyDeleteI think Corey knows how lucky he is, the look on his face certainly says it all. From being cooped up to relaxing on a lovely rug and snacks of butter and tuna, what more could a pup want ;) So glad to see you blogging again!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCorey is really cute and what a great gift!
ReplyDeleteThank you for adopting this adorable puppy. He deserves a wonderful forever home.
ReplyDeleteCorey is adorable! Rescue pets are the absolute best!
ReplyDeleteQue precioso perrito!!! cuidarlo mucho, besos
ReplyDeleteHe sure is cute!
ReplyDeleteHaving just adopted a new dog (year old black lab mix), I can attest to the sneaking thief. Only Shadow ate two of my BBD charts! I must quickly change my habit of leaving charts and fabric on my bed. Corey is a cutie. Enjoy your new furry friend.
ReplyDeleteReally cute doggie!
ReplyDeleteBut I also love your rug! I recognize it as a table runner that I made several years ago and just love! I use it all winter and hate to put it away in the spring!
Look at that face!!! He is darling!
ReplyDeleteOh my word, how funny! It's a good thing he is so darn pretty. Very sweet of you and your son to do that, I want to start that with my kids... thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteSneaky, ha! I don't believe that precious face could do any wrong...he is a keeper.
ReplyDeleteWho can resist that face. What a wonderful birthday present. I had a Sheltie that liked to steal steaks off the counter. He was very good at it. Chester is in doggy heaven now.
ReplyDeleteIt's always the angelic looking ones who melt your heart no matter how much mischief they get into...
ReplyDeleteHe's a keeper for sure!
ReplyDeleteHe is adorable, we loved hearing the story's about him at Retreat last week-end.

Do keep us updated on his (mis)adventures. He looks like a real cutie!
ReplyDeleteRemember, he is just a little boy. There is hope!
ReplyDeleteLove that you adopted him and love, love, love that you are sharing such a wonderful time with your son and all the lucky pups.
A naughty pup makes memories . . He is darling!
ReplyDeleteLove the puppy! Have you considered re-releasing Christmas Memories series of four books. So many on Pinterest are wanting that quilt!. It would be nice in new fabric line, At Home!. Email me if you do. tresretro@yahoo.com.
ReplyDeleteHi Jane,
DeleteBarb has been thinking of doing another Christmas Quilt. I don't know if we have enough interest in this pattern to reprint now. I will save your address in case we do though!
Kind regards,
Alma

Looking for pattern for Camp Reveille
ReplyDeleteAwww, he's adorable! He's that age---puppy behavior, teen rebelliousness, with big dog abilities!! We adopted Girlfriend Magoo at the same age. Doggy daycare was essential for using up all that energy.
ReplyDeleteCorey is adorable. I am sure you will cure his thieving ways.
