On The Road Again
Wednesday, October 6, 2010My car is loaded up and I'm almost ready to leave for Country Sampler in Spring Green, WI. Barb and I are teaching a quilt and cross stitch class. We will be gone for 4 days.
I wanted to write a quick note and say don't give up on this blog! I know there hasn't been much excitement here on-line but I will have more time to post after quilt market. (Oct. 30)
Barb and I had a great time in Park City, UT. We were there for the Shepherd's Bush retreat. The small sewing tray pictured above was our class project. Just the right place to keep your scissors and other small sewing items. The frame is from Sharon Crescent's line. (Crescent Colours) The silk floss is from Thread Gatherer.
The small quilt above is one of our Country Sampler projects. It's perfect for a winter table or hung on the wall. We also give a sewing guide for a much larger quilt.
The small sampler above is the cross stitch project for the retreat.
Hope you are enjoying this lovely weather. Great time to get out and walk and collect acorns and autumn leaves!
Until later,
Alma

ReplyDeleteEnjoy your trip to Spring Green and Country Sampler. Visited the shop for the first time last month, and fell in love with it. So many things so little time.
ReplyDeleteI love the projects you will be sharing, and I am going to echo the others request "are the stitcheries going to be available for purchase?" I need, yes, need the tray; an answer to keeping the dogs away from my needle and threads. Thank you.
Have you been sneaking in my living room?? I have been collecting acorns, and believe me there are plenty for our squirrel friends!! I would never give up on this blog, I will keep checking in, and be delited whenever you have time to pop back. You gals are certainly busy with quilting, cross stitch, teaching, traveling, getting books out, .... hello - maybe your own families?!! whew! Don't know how you do it all!!
ReplyDeleteLove both the charts, especially the first one, is it gonna be in the new book? I know you will have fun at Country Sampler! Hurry Back!!

ReplyDeleteI hope your travels go well and that it's all an invigorating and enriching experience!
ReplyDeleteThat said, I would be thrilled to bits if your retreat/teaching piece were made available for sale so the rest of us poor shmucks who can't make the retreat could stitch them, particularly the first one.
Alma,

Thanks!

ReplyDeleteAlma, have fun !! As I write this, I've just finished the little tray from the SB retreat and it looks so cute !! I have my little pincushion all finished too and just need a pair or cute scissors to go with everything :-)
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoyed your time in Denver with your daughter...
hi, i really, really like your designs and i would love to make the small quilt you have featured in this blog entry! Are you going to release it as a pattern or in a book? Thanks for the inspiration :)
ReplyDeleteI love the project made at the Shepherd's Bush retreat - Two Souls One Heart. I hope you release that one for purchase. It would be at the top of my list for Christmas for sure.
ReplyDeleteI love your quilt ! I will look after your new book !
ReplyDeleteMy sister-in-law, Etta McFarland, attended the Shepherd's Bush Retreat recently and mentioned the silver border inset on the framed tray you have pictured. Could you tell me what you call the silver strip/edging on the inside of the frame near the insert, and where can I purchase this? Absolutely beautiful, and the idea of attaching drawer pulls to the frame is more than just a clever idea!!!!
