Beach house

Beach house windows provide great light ... Barb is making use of one to place the pieces on her block.

Pieces glued in place ready for applique. We plan to take the sewing machines out to the screened-in porch and sew. The surf will be our background music.

We couldn't take too much....but we brought a table cloth and several candles. The sand is free here and so are the shells....

We purchased a bit of bloom...Barb found these coke bottles in a flea market....they are the color of sea glass

Tomorrow some shopping!
Back to work!!!

  23. Color me envious as well! When I lived in Nashville, I used to love going down to Gulf Shores. As much as I enjoy living in southern California (at times - LOL), I'm still a southern girl at heart and miss the South. :)

  24. Wow, that's a gorgeous quilt! It's so inspiring to see you two at work. And to bring some beauty along with you as well! So how do you manage to glue the fabric down so well around all those curves and points and indents so that you can machine applique them down? Hard enough when you hand applique! I've never tried the glue baste method before. i'll have to give it a try.
