Beach house windows provide great light ... Barb is making use of one to place the pieces on her block.
Pieces glued in place ready for applique. We plan to take the sewing machines out to the screened-in porch and sew. The surf will be our background music.
We couldn't take too much....but we brought a table cloth and several candles. The sand is free here and so are the shells....
We purchased a bit of bloom...Barb found these coke bottles in a flea market....they are the color of sea glass
Oh wow, this is going to be another have to have book for sure. The quilt looks lovely!! Quilting by the shore, how much fun is that!!! Enjoy it!!! Blessings Michelle
Color me envious as well! When I lived in Nashville, I used to love going down to Gulf Shores. As much as I enjoy living in southern California (at times - LOL), I'm still a southern girl at heart and miss the South. :)
Wow, that's a gorgeous quilt! It's so inspiring to see you two at work. And to bring some beauty along with you as well! So how do you manage to glue the fabric down so well around all those curves and points and indents so that you can machine applique them down? Hard enough when you hand applique! I've never tried the glue baste method before. i'll have to give it a try.
OK, I cannot stand it - I need to know where you purchased the wire votive holders!! I think I am becoming your stalker, I want all that you have. Love your blog, love the quilt and I WANT the wire votive holders. Oh my Polly
That quilt looks devine - can't wait to see the finished photos! Indulge us - is this for a new book? Who, what, when ........ spill the details so I can stalk my LPS for it :-) Better still - come back to Australia and workshop it for us again - please! Kind regards - Dawn
WOW! What a vacation! And a working one at that! The quilt is beautiful already...I look forward to seeing it finished! And those coke bottle...SO neat...I've not seen any like that before!
I drug one of my sewing machines out to our porch the other day and I've been working out there when time allows....it's not the beach but I do get sounds of nature!
